The Internet & Jurisdiction Policy Network is pleased to announce the translation of the Internet & Jurisdiction Global Status Report 2019 in Portuguese by the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee/ CGI.br.
The pioneering Internet & Jurisdiction Global Status Report 2019 - authored by Professor Dan Jerker B. Svantesson - responds to the urgent call of senior-level stakeholders in the Internet & Jurisdiction Policy Network, for information to develop frameworks and policy standards for the digital society. The Report identifies key internet and jurisdiction policy trends from data protection, internet of things, freedom of expression and security. It combines detailed desk research with a global data collection from over 150 key stakeholders – states, internet companies, technical operators, civil society, academia and international organizations from five continents.
The Brazilian Internet Steering Committee/ CGI.br coordinates and integrates all Internet service initiatives in Brazil, as well as promoting technical quality, innovation and the dissemination of the services available. It is comprised of members from the government, the corporate sector, the third sector and the academic community, and as such constitutes a unique Internet governance model for the effective participation of society in decisions involving network implementation, management and use. The Portuguese Translation will enable wider consumption of the findings and contribute to internet policy discussions.
