In November, the first multi-stakeholder Global Internet and Jurisdiction Conference explored the relationship between the Internet and national legal frameworks, including data privacy and criminal law.
About the Report
This report was prepared by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in response to a request by the Economic and Social Council. Its purpose was for the United Nations Secretary-General to inform the Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD), highlighting major activities undertaken by stakeholders in 2016 to implement the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).
