TOWARDS POLICY COHERENCE AND JOINT ACTION
On February 26-28, 2018, over 200 senior-level participants from governments, major Internet companies, technical operators, civil society, academia and international organizations from over 40 countries met in Ottawa, Canada, for the second Global Conference of the Internet & Jurisdiction Policy Network.
Building on the results of the first Global Conference in November 2016 in Paris, France, and subsequent intersessional work, stakeholders at the second Global Conference defined common objectives and Work Plans to develop concrete solutions to pressing jurisdictional challenges on the internet.
SECRETARIAT SUMMARY AND OTTAWA ROADMAP
Today, the Secretariat releases the outcome document of this second Global Conference. It consists of the Secretariat Summary and the Ottawa Roadmap with concrete Work Plans for the three Programs of the Policy Network: Data & Jurisdiction, Content & Jurisdiction, and Domains & Jurisdiction. These will guide the multistakeholder policy development work facilitated by the Secretariat after the Ottawa Conference.
The second Global Conference of the Internet & Jurisdiction Policy Network was organized in partnership with the Government of Canada, and institutionally supported by the OECD, the Council of Europe, UNESCO, the European Commission and ICANN.
