The Report is the first-of-its-kind mapping of trends, actors and initiatives with regard to cross-border legal challenges in cyberspace. It is based on an unprecedented collaborative large-scale data collection. Stakeholders from over 150 entities from the Internet & Jurisdiction Policy Network, including governments, international organizations, companies, academia and civil society from around the world, participated in this global effort.

ABOUT THE GLOBAL STATUS REPORT

Responding to the urgent call of senior-level stakeholders from over 50 countries in the Internet & Jurisdiction Policy Network, the Internet & Jurisdiction Global Status Report enables evidence-based policy innovation and provides stakeholders with the necessary information to develop frameworks and policy standards for the digital society. The Secretariat has entrusted internationally renowned Professor Svantesson, at the Faculty of Law at Bond University, with the lead authorship of the Report. A coalition of four important public actors enabled the production of this pioneering Report: the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development , the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, and the European Commission, Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT).
